Electrical Engineer (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

  • Specification, design, and development of electronic / electrical assemblies for the control of mechanisms for space application, and for ground based scientific and industrial projects
  • Specification, design and development of electronics for the laboratory verification of mechanisms
  • Preparation of extensive technical offers
  • Create purchasing specifications for electrical / electronic components and assemblies including the selection of EEE / Space approved components  
  • "Shadow Engineering" and technical "Subcontractor" management of suppliers
  • Synthesis and analysis of Electrical / Electronic circuits by means of dedicated software, including simulation at circuit and layout level
  • Manufacture and assembly of electrical and electronical assemblies or devices according to technical data package
  • Develop firmware or software for electrical/electronic assemblies or test systems following specification and coding standards
  • Support software or firmware development done by suppliers
  • Planning and conducting development trials, qualification and acceptance tests
  • Document all activities in English according to the ESA and / or internal Engineering / PA / QA standards and guidelines
  • Preparation and participation of technical design reviews with suppliers and customers

 

Your Profile

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or similar
  • 5 years’ experience with hardware design: circuit design, simulation of the functionality using CAD and layout generation
  • 5 years’ experience working in lab environment with the test of PCBs and electronics systems
  • Design and testing experience with Phot Voltaic systems is considered as a strong plus
  • Previous experience with the design and testing of electronics for charging and discharging of rechargeable batteries is considered as an advantage of the application
  • Experience in low level programing of microprocessors and FPGAs is a strong asset
  • Excellent experience in planning, executing, documenting and analyzing tests of electronics boards and systems
  • Good experience in writing technical documentation
  • Technical understanding of space quality standards (ECSS-Q, PSS, MIL); EEE components know-how is a nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and EN 9100 environment
  • Advanced level of English; German is a strong asset
  • Dynamic, proactive person, able to manage different projects in parallel
  • Rigorous in his/her daily work but also able to understand other stakeholders’ constraints and constructively interface with them
  • Positive, solution-oriented person, able to cope with emotions and stress
