Description of the role


As Manager Manufacturing Electronics Vienna you have the responsibility for establishing and maintaining production and test staff, facilities and processes at the electronics site in Vienna. You are responsible for creating and coaching a high-performance team with focus on successful execution and delivery of customer projects.

Your area of responsibility also covers finding of creating a strong culture of innovation and continuous improvements, as well as continuing the implementation of lean ways of working.


Your responsibilities


  • All aspects of manufacturing to reach cost, time, and quality parameters as per contract.
  • Collecting and generating of KPI’s/data needed to allow efficient resource balancing and reach the lead times and delivery dates set.
  • Securing adherence to quality standards of in-house procedures and processes within the organization.
  • Cooperating closely with the engineering & product development teams to drive design to cost especially for all manufacturing and test related aspects
  • Driving standardization of methods and tools, with the overall goal of increasing efficiency and driving industrialization
  • Overall responsibility of the manufacturing and test facilities on site
  • Acting as a line manager, in all aspects, for the production and test team
  • Workload and resource planning for the production and test team both mid-term as well as daily coordination, in cooperation with the test team lead.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of Operations Vienna and drive the strategic execution on section level.
  • Understanding and actively driving VSM to all relevant value streams to improve the flow.
  • Managing daily improvements
  • Leading and developing the teams and individuals in line with RUAG’s values, strategies, and objectives
  • Understanding and developing employees from a leadership perspective and act as a role model in diversity and inclusion aspects.


Your profile


  • Experience from electronics manufacturing - low volume, high mix & high quality
  • General understanding of electronic measurement and test equipment
  • Good knowledge in OPEX (5S, Value Stream mapping, MDI etc.)
  • Leadership experience and an interest in leadership development.
  • Excellent cooperation and negotiation skills
  • Deep understanding of space requirements and processes.
  • Strong commercial understanding/skills
  • Strong in communicating in German and English (oral and in writing)
  • Open-minded, strong communicator and networker, willingly involves others and shares Information
  • Language skills: Fluent English and German required (Finnish or Swedish useful)
