Total Productive / Preventative Maintenance Manager

RUAG Space USA is looking for a Total Productive/Preventative Maintenance (TPM) Manager for our manufacturing facility in Decatur, AL.  This role will oversee the maintenance and operation effectiveness of the plant equipment.

 

Main Tasks:

  • Establish a robust and standardized TPM program for the Decatur, AL and Titusville, FL facilities, with a view to revise current processes and standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Ensure the plant machinery and equipment are in a safe operating condition by completing preventative, planned, and corrective maintenance requirements. Create and maintain a safe and compliant working environment through adherence to all internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Effectively manage internal and external resources to maintain the machine operations in accordance with Engineering and Quality requirements.
  • Oversee plant reliability for industrial optimization with a view to continuously reduce cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance practices, and upgrades.
  • Review daily production effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement and work with the Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams to identify prevention actions that drive long term sustainment action plans.
  • Manage and organize the spare parts inventory and budget using lean manufacturing principles. Work to establish the optimal part quantities and re-order points to mitigate machine downtime.
  • Continuously develop and improve the plant's maintenance planning system so that it is an effective tool that helps reduce unplanned downtime and cost, whilst increasing machine productivity and maximizing throughput.

Requirements/Skill Set:

  • 10 years minimum of relevant experience
  • Must be a practitioner of Total Productive Maintenance, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies with experience establishing new systems / processes that meet or exceed the Quality, Cost and Delivery expectations of the company.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Space or Aerospace experience preferred
