Manager Program Management

We are seeking a Manager Program Management to lead The Program Management Team of the RUAG Large Scale Composite structures development and recurring deliveries from RUAG Space USA.  The position will ensure the successful negotiation, execution, and delivery with regards to quality, time, cost and customer satisfaction, for one-offs as well as development and series programs.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Execution:

  • Owns the overall responsibility for all assigned project managers to programs (programmatic, financial, technical), within the framework agreed with the customer.
  • Guides assigned project managers through coaching and holding accountability with a programmatic point of view.
  • Takes the managerial responsibility towards the direct reports, performing the HR processes such as competence planning, recruitment, performance management, development etc.
  • Identifies and manages upselling and new business opportunities and acts upon these by involving internal stakeholders for information, support and advice where needed 
  • Supports the creation of technical proposals, including cost- and schedule estimates for future projects
  • Contributes to Technology-, Product- and Strategic roadmaps with existing business intelligence

Proposals:

  • Assists with input for negotiations with customers.
  • Supports price definition/contribution margin? project cost calculations during proposal phase and steers implementation after negotiation.
  • Follows offers within PROGRAM area.

 

Management responsibility:

  • Leads and coordinates the overall project planning within the domain, and responsible to ensure/secures execution according to project/program schedule
  • Leads project controlling with inputs from assigned Finance/Project controlling stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Operations and other applicable stakeholders to demand for resources.
  • Appoints Project or Program Managers for all Programs
  • Review resources skill evaluation, disciplinary actions, training needs, and required recruiting.
  • Job assignments, resource planning to meet the needs of Programs.

 

Leads a department with the responsibility to:

  • Lead project teams, targeting contract compliant execution of all relevant tasks and elaboration of all technical deliverables within the financial and timing boundary conditions
  • Secure team composition in line with project requirements and in agreement with the relevant line-managers from engineering and operations, coordinating the disciplines.
  • Identify and ensure the relevant communication flow within the team project-team and project management team, including periodic progress reporting to the Executive Team.
  • Ensure and manage achievement of milestones incl. customer deliverables, and milestone payments.  
  • Identify, categorize, estimate, document and mitigate risks
  • Coordinates the management of relevant project/program suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Act as escalation point for assigned project managers.
  • Drive improvements within projects, to create value both in the short and long term.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • 5>7 years Education in Engineering, M.Sc. level or above.
  • Extensive Certified and/or deeply experienced within Project/Program Management
  • Experience from project execution in an international environment
  • Extensive managerial experience (>10yrs) and deep knowledge from the Space and related non-space business
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Holistic view, strategic orientation, and excellent analytical skills

 

Preferred:

  • Customer insight, experience from the customers’ business and organization
  • Technical understanding and know-how of related field of work and generalistic approach
  • Excellent leadership and coordination skills
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, solution driven, willing to make a difference, commercial mindset
  • Strong motivator with high energy level and persistence to overachieve goals
  • Open-minded, strong communicator and networker, willingly involves others and shares information
