Systems Engineer

SUMMARY: The right candidate will have, demonstrable on the resume, at least five years' worth of experience working "around" the production process, either doing design reviews and/or process reviews. You'll have experience with metallic and composite structure manufacture, and you will hopefully have some experience with requirements management, proposal development, and /or schedule integration. Main Tasks:
o Coordinate all technical disciplines retated to the development of complex products
o Manage, negotiate and track customer requirements and break them down to sub-system level requirements
o Manage requirement verification control
o lssue Technical Specifications for sub-systems and subcontractors
o Drive / Contribute to design and technologies trade study selection process
o Analyze complex probtems and define solutions, considering given requirements
o Conduct concept studies
o Develops, evaluates and compares technical solutions in order to determine optimal nominal solutions including multi-disciplinary trade-offs and respective reports
o lssue technical reports (e.g. Development and Verification plans, Specifications, Development and Qualification test plans, etc)
o Review of technical results and documentation (incl. engineering and manufacturing drawings)
o Support the project manager in the conducting of regular project meetings (internal and external) and design reviews
o Conduct technical meetings
o Coordinate and issue technical proposals
o Support the project manager in technical negotiations with customers and subcontractors/suppliers, be the primary technical interface to the customer

 

Requirements /Skill set:
o B.S. in Engineering
o 5+ Years of relevant industry experience
o Very good understanding of composite and metallic materials in the following domains: mechanical, structural, thermal, acoustic and aerodynamic
o Risk management
o Proposal management
o Awareness of costs and schedule
o Problem solving skills
o Good communication and cooperation
o Organizational skills
o Familiarity with IBM DOORS and Enovia preferred
o MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and also Project)
