Electrical Design Engineer, Antenna

Our products enable better communication, navigation, weather forecasting, broadcasting, climate monitoring, and internet access all over the world. At RUAG Space, we develop and produce products and systems for satellites and rockets designed for real space adventures! Space is a part of the daily work at RUAG Space.  We manufacture space products that are used in almost all satellites and rockets serving the worldwide space industry and global needs.

 

Our Antenna development is characterized by modifications of antennas in our product portfolio to satisfy new customer needs but also pioneering and innovative designs to place completely new products on the market. Our current antenna portfolio consists mainly of stand-alone antennas, but we are aiming to include also array antennas. Today we predominantly use milled aluminum parts, but additive manufacturing is a promising technology for our antennas. Many of our antennas employ patented and unique design solutions, where our customers primarily buy our products based on their outstanding RF-performance including high power, PIM and multipaction. Everything that we design, manufacture and test will, in the end, be used in space, thus good mechanical design, verification, and quality is essential. To understand the customer needs and not just fulfilling requirement by requirement is becoming increasingly important in a business that goes through commotion when traditional space business meets New Space with new technologies and solutions.

 

The Product Unit Antennas is entering a new exciting phase and we are looking for a technically minded engineer, who is interested in RF design and development as well as object management, with an ambition to become a future leader in our organization.

 

Your responsibilities as Antenna Design Engineer and Object Manager

 

• Antenna electrical design and development
• Analysis of antenna RF performance
• Measure and evaluate antenna RF performance
• Write technical proposals based on judgement of customer requirements and knowledge of our product portfolio
• Write technical procedures, reports, and presentations in both English and Swedish
• Participate in and make presentations at meetings with the customer
• Object management -manage time, resources, and facilities to fulfill technical requirements in dialogue with the customer

  

Your profile

 

• Master of Science or similar
• Experience from antenna or microwave design, analysis and test
• Proficient in HFSS and Matlab
• Leadership skills
• Experience from object / project module management
• Goal and solution oriented with a large portion of courage and curiosity
• Interest in technology and space
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish
