RUAG Space USA is seeking candidates for the Business Development Director, US Commercial Space.  This position will be directly responsible for this business area.  The following shows the responsibilities and requirements of the Director position.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
•    Systematically scouts and reports business potential and market trends in their area, providing insight on the end customer competitive environment 
•    Ensures a strong customer interface at the business development level within the dedicated market area, managing the opportunities, ensuring the generation of RFI and RFPs 
•    Acts as the voice of the customer internally 
•    Develops and executes capture plans, particularly for large programs, sub-system or bundle business opportunities 
•    Creates, identifies and develops business opportunities
•    Performs regular lead qualification in alignment with KAM & Sales, Programs and Engineering  
•    Provides guidance for win theme and pricing, supports negotiations  
•    Approve bids according to authority matrix 
•    Manages proposal reviews and decision-making processes according to authority matrix  
•    Contributes to performance assessment of US Sales team
•    Shares market information with KAM & Sales, Programs and Engineering. Identifies and ensures the relevant information flow and secures alignment with all relevant stakeholders within the company 
•    This position reports to the VP of Busines Development & Strategy
•    Must have strong communication skills
•    Must lead and perform all duties according to the RUAG Space Values and Code of Conduct
•    Perform other duties as necessary
 
Most important skills: 
•    Understand the Civil business markets
•    Create solid capture plans for assigned campaigns 
•    Implement prospect planning and lead qualification 
•    Manage prospective pipelines
•    Must be able to close on opportunities to secure new contracts 
 
Position requirements:
•    BS or BA from a credited university plus ten (10) years or more in the Business Development role.
•    Excellent knowledge of the Commercial space market and competitive landscape with a solid personal network in this business area
•    Persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills 
•    Cooperative leadership style, self-starter and experienced with multinational teams in distributed locations 
•    Experienced negotiator at all levels
•    Successfully managed complex projects in a matrix organization and across multiple sites 
•    Must be able to travel up to 50%
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
